I downloaded TS12 at the end of July, 2012. At first, I ran though the tutorials, didn't know how the brakes worked, couldn't read the signals, switch positions, anything. A few head on collisions and derails were always there to add some excitement to my sessions. Gradually I got more and more comfortable and started trying new things, and little by little I "almost" know what I am doing much of the time.
The other day I downloaded this fantastic route, Miyabi Coastal Railway, and have been running up and down that route, checking out all the scenery. I decided right away that it needed some AI train traffic, so this morning I placed two portals, one on the north end and one at the south end, used portal manager to create some Amtrak trains and programmed them, and now I have AI trains running up and down the route. What I love about Trainz, is that for the most part it is pretty intuitive, and if you have a question about something and can't find the answer, , the forum usually comes up with a solution pretty quickly. The AI, in my opinion, works great and is easy to set up, and brings the entire route alive. The amount of free ware that you can get for this program is outstanding. I am now officially addicted to Trainz.
