is Trainzone still alive?

Greetings. I was on the site Trainzone.co.nz looking at a GE 23 boxcab diesel. I know these assets are old, but I was interested to use it in T:ANE. Anyway, there are two versions, SG and NG, but a common dependencies file needed for both. The download link to the dependencies file is broken. There is an email at the bottom of the page to report issues, but that email bounces as no longer available. Is there still anyone managing that site?

That link is to trainzone-1.com which is not valid any more. All the other links are Trainzone.co,nz. Michael is still working on Murchison 3 but I have no idea how to get in touch. Check the threads on Murchison to see if someone there has a email address.

Last time I talked to Michael Sutton about trainzone, he said he was aware that it needed fixing but was too busy with Murchison 3 at the time to attend to it. It was on his list of things to do.

Trainzone was built in Frontpage 98. It required the server to have Frontpage extensions installed to make Frontpage sites be able to work. I'm amazed the site still works. The ISP I worked at disabled those extensions at least 15 years ago.

Thanks guys. I tried modifying one of the working links by replacing the name of the cdp file with the deps file, but got a 404. Not a big deal I guess, more of a curiosity, but I appreciate the updates about the site.

FYI the general deps pack cdp includes following kuids:

<kuid:44700:57061> Animated shunter driver
<kuid:44700:51061> 36 Shunter Engine File
<kuid:44700:53061> 36 in shunter enginesound

I'm pretty sure I downloaded everything from the site years ago. I'll see if I can figure out which drive I used and if I have that file.

Hi Guys

Yes TRAINZONE links are all supposed to still be working.
However I am very aware that the website needs a major going over and, because much of the content is by third party developers, there is no guarantee that assets will work in later versions than those specified.

Unfortunately the MURCHISON 3 update became rather a "monkey on my back" (although i still enjoy it and am still hard at work on it)
I originally thought it would take a year or so to update ... but its now taken me 10 years.

I know I keep saying its almost finished but, all I can do, is say the same thing again .... its almost finished.
I do have BETA versions out with testers for testing and comments and the final detailing is under way .... but when finished it has to go to N3V for their comments .... Also I still havre to build a range of operating sessions (which I will start while N3V have it to make their comments)

Here are some screenshots. https://www.ironhorseproductions.co.za/murchison3.html
I have not added any new screenshots for awhile .... but if you haven't seen them check them out.

As to your question on TRAINZONE .... once Murchison is out of my hair I will update the website to the 21st Century :):)
In the meantime you can contgact me by email and I will rty and help.

email: mjsutton@xtra.co.nz

cheers
Michael
