Is this spec sufficient for T:ANE?

Learning... slowly!
Hi All,
Seen a desktop advertised at a very good price with the following spec. As much as I'm desperately trying to learn about how computers work and the contribution of each component, I am still not great at comparing specs and picking out the differences, except where it's obvious, for example 2GB RAM vs 4GB.

The spec is listed below as it's advertised; my suspicion is that the graphics card is not good enough for T:ANE but please could someone confirm for me?
  • Win 10 64-Bit
  • Quad core Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz CPU
  • Processor features 6MB Smart Cache with 3.6GHz maxmimum turbo frequency
  • Intel HD Graphics 530 onboard
  • 8GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB HDD Storage
  • Gigabit wired networking

Cheers!

I'm pretty sure it should be sufficient. I have a Intel Pentium dual core 3.2 GHz and 8GB of RAM and I have been able to run some of the higher quality graphics, such as the shadows and high textures. The graphics card will probably need to be upgraded though to support those features.

Do you even know which GPU you have? If its a built-in one which model of the Intel graphics it is? A 530 is about the lowest of the low. For TANE the CPU is practically irrelevant.

Belarc scanner should give you a very good idea.

A useful guide to comparative GPU performance during gaming by desktop discrete and integrated video cards is shown on the current Tom's Hardware Desktop GPU Performance Hierarchy.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

Use this table to view the equivalent performance of the Intel HD 530 onboard graphics compared to discrete AMD and NVidia graphics cards.
Generally speaking, the higher up this table your GPU appears, the better the performance (and quality settings) you'll experience from T:ANE.

The top five tiers will allow you to play T:ANE at very high settings and with smooth gameplay at reasonable frame rates.
Anything below rung 15 is a highly dubious candidate for T:ANE. Such cards will compromise both appearance and performance even at the lowest settings and many will simply not run T:ANE at all.

T:ANE is extremely GPU-centric. This is the component to choose first whenever you are building a custom rig to play this demanding railway simulator and world-builder.
