Is there a KUID list of each "package" contents??

I am hoping that there is a list of the KUIDs inside each "package" and patch that users can reference to help find assets that are needed for a route or session. This would greatly help identify where assets are and then the user can download or purchase what is needed.

Showing at a minimum a list of the kuid name.

I use the KUID Index and is is a great help but there is so much room for improvement in finding assets to allow us to enjoy the routes/sessions developed for this simulator.

This is what computers are really good at! Just need a little code writing to reduce the dissatisfaction that is growing amongst the user base.

While is is nice to look and race ahead with new products and development, it is just as important to look back and see how dirty their wake is.

Just trying to enjoy the game.

I am afraid in a game as decentralized as this one, it is a curse that will stay with us. Worst of all, are the assets from sites like TPR that have gone away, so the assets are no longer available. It would be great if there was a group similar to the Content Repair Group that could go through content and replace assets that are no longer available, but unfortunately a lot of the routes with missing assets come from third parties, so this would be of limited value. It is sort of the "Achille's Heel" of Trainz

If I find a CDP of, say, a good route I want to check out, I open the CDP in Notepad++. Using this editor, you can search for the phrase "kuid" and locate every KUID in the CDP file. of course it also picks out "kuid-table" and several other phrases with "kuid" in it, but it will give you every kuid in the file. Just don't alter anything, or save it.

For freeware....
Can't you just open CM, sort by "date installed" (date and time), drop the CDP to install the assets, and then examine the assets that were added? If you find something you want, keep it. Delete all the others. Just thinking out loud....

Since each package is an asset, then find the parent asset such as a route for example then list the dependencies then sort by status. Anything that's packaged will show as packaged in TRS19 SP5 and TRS22.

I just tried this in Content Manager:

Installed = True
Packaged = True

The list comes up...

I then picked <kuid:804089:103603> SSR C44 CEY T1 which is listed as Packaged, Payware in the status.

Right-clicked on that and got the dependencies and sorted by status, although not necessary since the list is pretty short. Some are listed as Packaged only while some are Packaged, Payware The Packaged, Payware I assume are asset specific while the others are part of the built-in assets.

These are all packaged assets associated with that locomotive:

<kuid2:804089:102875:3> 7FDL-16 C44ACI Enginesound
<kuid2:60723:70002:1> redcorona

If I understand the OP, they don't have the package to install to look inside it. It is more a question of route builders using items that the OP doesn't have installed and therefore needs to know what DLC to buy/install. I guess the route builder could easily provide that info in the announcement thread for the content. Third party providers used to do that for dependencies of their assets on their website. As John points out, it is easy to do.
