Is it worth upgrading to 1440P for trainz?

So I'm in the planning stages for a new gaming pc build. I'm currently running a 1080P set up but I am considering upgrading to a 1440P set up. (I've already been made aware that Trainz doesn't support 4K resolution in it's current state.) Is it worth upgrading to 1440P for trainz or would I be better off staying with 1080P?

Since the only difference is the monitor it's 3,686,400 pixels to be driven rather than 2,073,600, translation you'll need about twice the GPU to get the same frame rates. I might go a 4k monitor then run it in 1920 by 1080 for trainz.

That's what I do. I found running at 2560 x 1440 didn't do anything much for Trainz. I run Trainz windowed anyway and can scale the window up to any size I want.
