I would not put it past them (even though they said they won't) I went to download some pre-sp3 stuff (which wasn't supposed to be removed either) only to find it unavailable; I have 09 & 10. Someone with an FCT verified that they couldn't either. So it looks to me like they are deleting stuff off the DLS.

The pre-sp3 assets may have been unavailable for quite some time now ... who really knows what month exactly 786 of them, or more, went unavailable, for FCT holders, but I (TRS2006) can't download any pre-sp3 assets even though I do have a FCT.

This isn't necessarily the same. If my route is downloaded from the DLS, then the DLS will automatically download required assets as long as they're on the DLS. Downloading it from another site won't provide that convenience. Some routes could be hundreds of missing assets and when I download a route like that, I just delete it. I'm not spending countless hours tracking down missing kuids. Some people may have nothing better to do with their time, but it's just not my cup of tea.
I appreciate your level headed approach to this debate in lieu of the unfounded rumors that tend to flood the numerous threads on this subject.

Pretty pathetic.
A group that seems happy a number of creators and Trainz fans will be locked out of the DLS. The only thing that ever made this an enjoyable hobby are the many creators who gave their time to make it that way. Now, everyone's happy they will be pushed away, based on what. A new version of this game.
To rapt in some sort of mine's better than yours attitude. The real crying will start when we're forced to go CDP hunting and newbies wailing about finding that content to make their downloads work, let alone have to fix it.
Don't know what's worse. This move by Auran or the elitism that would rather see a group of users pushed away. As long as you have their content, who cares right.

I'm able to post on the forums, and i am able to download from the DLS; granted, i have a FCT, but has anyone not in possession of an FCT tried to download anything?

Just to follow up; I've heard from some people that a number of other stuff from UTC & '04 have gone missing as well off the DLS.

Could be broken stuff I suppose, I've just noticed the same thing downloading updates in 2010, 49 pre 04 never appeared even though they were listed, still are.

Examples? Evidence? Otherwise all you're doing is spreading FUD.
I've yet to see any credible reason why Auran would pull non-faulty stuff off the DLS (or even easily fixable faulty stuff), as it would break just about every route on it.
I'd be interested to hear when early version content starts getting knocked back though...
