Yes unless it is provided by N3V (see below) serial numbers are linked to the individual as in each has a different serial number linked to the version of Trainz and your email address.

However Trainz 2009 has been a free giveaway from N3V and it was still working a few months ago, you just need to sign up for the Newsletter. http://ts2009.trainzportal.com/free/ This was a genuine offer from N3V.

To download any software is seldom illegal, but to install and use it can be a very different matter. Peter

If this is in fact pirated software, then you are in clear violation of the Code of Conduct discussing this here. Item #9 specifically.

"Giving, discussing, requesting, or linking to information that is either directly or indirectly related to obtaining pirated or unauthorized copyrighted materials, serial numbers, serial number generators and No-CD patches may result in an immediate ban."
