iportal tunnel question

maybe you can help or at least shed some light on this subject:

I got this layout I built its done I put in 2 iportal one on each side of the layout. I will build on from the other side of the iportal. now the question is will cmp recognize the layout as 2 layouts or one since it has iportal tunnels but the one layout is connected to the other layout with iportal tunnels so does that makes all one layout or 2 separate layouts that is connected by iportal tunnels. also there are 2 base boards inbetween the 2 iportals tunnels. ( I do not know how to ask this question )

If this is all saved as 1 layout then it will be 1 layout. The iportals (number of or locations) make no difference. Each iportal must have a seperate name/identity. Let's assume an east to west route with 4 iportals. We'll name them (east to west) E1, E2, W1, and W2 for simpliciity. Between E2 and W1 you have already added two baseboards and then continued to build westward where you terminated with iportal W2. A train traveling East to west can enter E2 and be sent to W1 where it can contiinue on to W2 and then be sent to any other route or back to the same route for that matter. Is this what you are describing?

torino12, sorry about this seem like I have asked this question before maybe not? yes I have set up the iportals already in my layout

so, if the iportals on the layout ( I still cannot explain this; I know what I'm thinking but put it in words is tuff for this point of view. torino12 you are close. so I would need to build another layout put that under a different name save it then merge that to the Iportal section and its up and running then the new layout I merge with the original layout will become part of the original but in actauality it will 2 totally different layouts in 1. or can I have 2 layouts not connected by baseboards but with iportals in same screen. for example I got one layout on the screen with iportals and I have another layout not connected by baseboards on the same screen with also iportals traveling between the 2 layouts that are active on the screen. can that be done?

yes, it can. it will be recognized as 1 layout.

hey boyerm25 yeah I thought so, I have 2 layouts on same screen with a balnk space between both hooked by iportals. so I got 2 layouts with 2 different names under one main layout, how cool is that??

on the ipad fror trainz I really do not know how great it is looks kind of dumb to me but thats me. really?? how are you going to move on the tracks? with the finger moveing all around touching the screen all the time, I will keep to my desktop. every piece of technology that comes out seems like put the trainz on it well some tech devices were not made for trainz and again thats just me.

one more question about i porter tunnel: I have 2 layouts with one iportal tunnel. now explaining this might be tricky now can I use the ipotal as a 2 way portal or do I need to set another one for returning. ok layout a and layout b trains from layout a is going to layout b and I set up my i portal as layout a goiing to layout b now once it reaches layout b and i have another train going from layiout b to layout a by useing the same iportal can I do that or does it need to be separate another ipotal going from layout b to lahyout a.

I run trainz into an iPortal and send it to my other route ... when I close my route ... and open the other route it emerges on the newly opened route

As long as you name each portal, I think they are bi-directional

Yes they are bi-directional
Give the I-portal A a ID name(portal A)
Give I-portal B a ID name (portal B)
Now for both type in your user name in send to user.
In portal A send to type in portal B
And portal B put Portal A
Check for trains this you don't have to set, but setting it to a time will kept the train
in the portal for that long or tell you click create train.
Make sure you have a long driveway from your portal to handle your longest train before the first light or switch.
