Invisible

Can anybody help PLEASE.
I have been using Trainz for quite a long time but have never come across this problem before.
I have started a new layout, put in some track and a small amount of scenery. I the raised some land for a hill and started to put some textures to the hill. I then realised that the track, trucks and scenery had all gone invisible. The trucks I can just about make out and the splines for the scenery just show the direction arrows. If I move away from the hill the track shows.
Does anybody know what I have done wrong.
I am using Trainz 2009 on a new Samsung laptop. (It passed all of the tests that come up when you first install Trainz)
I have not yet installed the patches.

There is a known bug in TS2009 where the route will disappear after saving. Sometimes it comes back after a few seconds, other times you have to exit and reload. Don't think Auran/N3V ever fixed it and with TS2009 now two versions of the programme behind, I doubt it will get sorted as TS2010 and TS12 don't have the same issue.

Hi Alan,

I'm not sure what bugs the patches for TS2009 fix, but I assume your problem is something that a patch will fix. The patches can be found here:
http://www.auran.com/servicepacks/

Scroll down to the TS2009 section. I assume you've installed patches before, and I won't need to provide instructions. I can provide patching instructions of you need them.

Hope this helps you!

Kieran.

EDIT: Vern beat me to it.

Hi Kieran and Vern.

Thanks for your very quick reponses.

Tried putting patches on. Patch 4 locked the computer so I had to do a clean instal. Lost the scenario thatI was working on. I started a new one and got quite a lot done. Once that I started to put textures in to the scenario the Invisibility returned, by doing "undo" it went again. I've also got a load of white writing in the top left of the screen. It seems that Vern is right that the software is flawed. I am reluctant to buy 2010 or 2012 as I have brought 2006 twice and 2009 and the Auran software seems very iffy.

Thanks again
Alan

Hi Alan, is your new laptop commissioned by NASA, if not then I would guess that the load being put on it was too great and made the assets disappear. The track will have reappeared at a long distance due to the LOD that makes it very very low poly when far away.
