10 years too late. OK, just kidding. But I did find your news today of interest -- collaborating route building. The 10 years? I had a friend over on the East coast that was into Trainz. He was much better at the "build" aspect than I, but we collaborated on a rather large route in the day, sending .cdp back and forth. He dropped out of Trainz several years back.

The TrainzDev team members played with this a while back. It was kind of fun watching other members terrain building and applying ground textures. It became very obvious to us that you need identify your "territory" so you didn't destroy others' work. We simply drew painted lines on the map and worked within that.
I think you would need to coordinate within a team perhaps using something like Discord. I've forgotten who "owns" the route but there was talk of having a special server for these routes which you had to pay for. Perhaps Gold and Silver members would get that as part of the deal.

Good to see this re-emerge. I’m hoping that one of the developments might be a Metal renderer for the MacOS version. Probably not though
