Interesting 'lack of' content updates for certain assets

Hi Trainzers,

I've found that the following built-in assets on mine (not including TS12-related updates) seem to be registering updates (showing as out-of date), but do not actually appear to have any when View Asset Versions is used:

Arkaden alt 6Gl,<kuid2:151900:100198:1>
Car 51,<kuid2:60850:29051:1>
Car 52,<kuid2:60850:29052:1>
Car 53,<kuid2:60850:29053:1>
Catapillar,<kuid2:68787:22169:2>
Gate A,<kuid:61119:27003>
phbr0571h,<kuid2:151900:200492:1>
Platform Sign 1 Lg,<kuid:61119:28024>
Platform Sign 1 Sm,<kuid:61119:28023>
Platform Sign 1 Xtra Lg,<kuid:61119:28037>
US3 bogey,<kuid:46162:50005>
2x2Block,<kuid:67598:112015>

If the creators of these assets are still around (which I know a few of them are) can they check whether an updated version of their content has indeed been uploaded? I have a feeling it's a Download Station bug, and would love to hear other users thoughts on this. Do any other users also have these 'ghost updates'? I've had them showing for a while now as being out of date.

(I have not included narrowgauge's items in this list as I'm aware of why they are showing as out of date).

Shane, I haven't checked the others, but Car 51,<kuid2:60850:29051:1> was obsoleted by Car 51,<kuid2:60850:29051:2> in my installation. Both are Build 2.9. I see, that "Mosti - Balezino" is using it, :2 might be built into TS12. On the other hand, it does show up on the black pages, so should be available to you.

I'm guessing it's another TS2010 vs TS12 related issue with that one.

I'm interested to see if any of the others are the same, and if so, N3V need to sort the problem out sharpish so that TS2010 and below users are not shown updates that are not applicable to their version.

are not, but aren't listed as out-of-date. EDIT: Oops, sorry, they do have :1 updates, but are not used in TS12 built-ins.

did have an update - 2x2Block,<kuid2:67598:112015:1>, build 2.7.
Arkaden alt 6Gl,<kuid2:151900:100198:1>
is also listed as having an update and this update was initially "location unknown" - CM as well as Black Pages - but after chewing on it for some minutes, CM did download Arkaden alt 6Gl,<kuid2:151900:100198:2>, build 2.8, after all.

It appears to be what I suspected with a few of them - that N3V seem to have a major bug in the DLS versioning system.

What is strange though on mine is that the ones showing as updates are all showing as unknown.

The mystery deepens...

Good luck with getting a response on that Shane. This bug has been pointed out in the past (e.g. threads by Hiballer) but Auran have been supremely uninterested.

It's been like that for ages, that's why we're getting unknown content posts from people.
Cm is trying to download a version above it's build (the latest version), instead of going for the :1 or :2 version.
For eg, my 2010 Cm is showing 8 updates by DAP which are build 3.6.

Out of date with a minmum build version of 3.4 gives me 650 assets that are useless (2010 CM build 44088)
 
Happens to me as well, certain items (like engine sounds and cabs for Justin's locos) will update and be unusable, or will not update at all. Thankfully I kept the older asset versions and simply deleted the newer versions and try to ignore the updates unless it's for an asset below v. 2.9. I've noticed this issue for at least the last year with TS2010 and it seems worse with 49938 - maybe because it will use some of the TS12 content?
