InterCity APT-P part 2

I think you'd have better luck with making one from scratch rather than kit-bashing one.
The bogey attachment points on the MK3s won't allow for the TGV's bogeys to go where you want them to.
This effectively makes your approach pretty much impossible to complete your project.

I'm sorry to shoot you down RDLover, but if you spend some time on google you'll see that the profiles and dimensions of the HSTs were quite different to those of the APT. There's one image I found, to which I cannot link you because the source had disappeared, which showed the prototype HST hauling some BR Mk1 test coaches and the APT-E's power car- which was significantly shorter in height than the rest of the rake.

I'm no expert in content creation but based on what's been said here and what I've seen from those who are in other threads, it would seem that starting from scratch would be the best method I'm afraid. I wish you all the best with it- I just don't have the talent to do these things unfortunately!

If I can get permission from the author to do so, I am willing and able to convert a MSTS APT-P to Trainz.

Kieran.

The APT coaches were more akin to what we now see on the Pendolino, with sloped sides.

I had the privilege of being invited on one of the staff familiarisation runs from London to Preston in 1980, which included a free 4 course meal in the restaurant car. The first class saloons weren't too bad but second class was a bit Spartan with hard seats and harsh lighting. Sadly the tilt was isolated on that particular run so didn't get a chance to experience the high speed cornering. And of course the whole project was scrapped not long after. For all the criticism of the Pendies, they are probably a much nicer train than the APT would have been, had it entered full service.

Just thinking... 1980, that's 34 years ago now - I really must be getting old!
