Installing Local Folder

I just installed TS2010 a couple of days ago with the latest build. I've used CM3 to import my backed up local folder from an external drive twice now. What I don't understand is there is still a lot of missing content on all of my imported routes. CM shows a lot of the content available on the DLS. On the second attempt to import the local folder the process was much shorter probably because I chose to skip existing content when prompted by CM3. My local folder is about 40 gig in size.

Why am I still missing content that was there on TS2009?

Have you tried a database repair? It could take a while but an extended database repair usually fixes imports.

Perhaps, but my experience that a full DBR does more harm than good, like deleting modified routes that do not match the data base. The main reason 09 assets are not showing up is because of content errors causing them not to work in 2010. I just completed fixing a slew of these imports even though many showed to be error free in 09. There is a thread on the subject here.

Thanks for the replies guys but I just don't think either theory explains my issue. A lot of my older content still shows errors and is in CM3 but I'm referring to content that has simply seemed to vanish. I can't seem to make any connection as to why or what type of content is gone. It seems completely random. There's newer content that is error free that has vanished. Luckily it looks like the map cdp's are fine they are just missing about 25% -35% of the content.

It's just frustrating because I was overly cautious about backing up and importing my local folder to TS2010. I'm a little wary of doing an EDR. I've read a few horror stories about loosing everything after an EDR.

Your method may not work due to structural differences between the two versions. I found that 2010 contains most if not all 2009 assets, so I merely converted 2009 assets that I wanted to use in 2010 ( mostly routes, engines and rolling stock from earlier versions) to CDPS and then imported them into 2010. They all showed in CM3, but many did not show in railyard or surveyor due to errors and mesh issues. I just about got them all working now, even the hotrodf7 from ver. 1.3. although a few still show warnings that can be ignored. I realize this does not help you very much, but it is a viable alternative. My goal is 100% blue dots in 2010 CM3 or at least as close to that figure that I can get.

i never has a dbr kill a route

But if the content is simply not there I don't think a EDR will do anything. Unless the missing content is hiding.
