Installin 2009 on top of 2010?

If I already have Trainz 2010, and I later install 2009, will I automatically gain all of the assets from the 2009 database into my 2010 database?

I don't know, but I sure hope you back up your 2010 installation in case adding 2009 makes a mess.

Why anyone would want to install an old version over a newer version that contains all of 2009 and more, besides you can't, you'll end up with a load of junk instead of Trainz.

Put another way there is nothing in 2009 that isn't in 2010 except maybe some of 2009's bugs, 2010 has it's own.

No. TS2010 has all of 2009 assets plus a lot of others. My TS2009 has 12844 total builtin assets while TS2010 has 19326.
