Insane Track Attack

I was relaying track (redoing the area). Picture 1. I inserted a spline point in a track and all of a sudden I had a crazy attack of bogus track which I CAN'T remove (Picture 2). It goes for miles. I have to restart before the spline insertion, try again but the attack of the unwanted track occurs again.

I'm using TS2010 with the update. But this occurred before the update as well. Does anyone know how/what/why this can be stopped otherwise...I don't want to think about it.

Never had this problem in 09, but it was in 04. Just delete it. You may have to go to wire frame mode to be able to see the track "deep in the ground", but you should be able to erase it.

If the delete track tool does not do the trick, try using one of the other delete tools (from the objects menu). There are several forum threads about this problem.

This sounds like the problem I have had a few times with TS2010. In my case I believe it was caused when I inadvertently added or changed track while editing a session rather than the route. Only way around it was to re-edit the session and delete all the offending tracks. Then check both the session and route separately to ensure all the bad track is gone.

I think there is a problem with TS2010 in this area. It would be nice if the display clearly showed what was been edited. In my case I was jumping back and forwards between a route editing session and a test session. At some point I forgot what context I was in and started changed track layout to fix an AI problem.

Thanks for all your responses. I don't think it's dependent on whether you're editing in a session or route. It seems to a random thing. Nevertheless either a weird track object is created which can then be deleted as an object or erased at the source as track which usually starts at some track location so it's easy to locate.
