Infraction

Just so you know, we do not look for banners that are oversize. The would be a waste of time. Oversize banners are reported to all mods at the same time. I personally send a warning first and then an infraction if it's not changed in a reasonable amount of time.

Just so you know...

Sounds fair boco.
Most people would change them if asked politely by mail or message.
Just for the record, I didn't get any message or Email concerning mine, just a surprise when I noticed it.
But let's not go there.

I don't look for banners that are over-sized either, but sometimes it's hard not to notice them with many animations or taking up half the screen. :D

I've changed the profile message under my name.
"Let's clean up this place" (in the nicest possible way, of course.)

Smiley.

Face it, once you receive an infraction, your marked for life!! It's a permanent blot on your record, and you are doomed to go through life abhorred by friends and shunned from society for all eternity. On the other hand, it's no big deal, so forget about it.

Yeah....right....

It's a game of favorites with the mods, if you are a YES man, you have nothing to worry about. If you have a different opinion than one of the mods, you will get those stupid points, I'm still waiting on my catalog, with all of the points I have, I should be able to get something really nice out of it.:p

Exactly!, I can speak of my own experience where a particular moderator on one of our foreign forums does participate in discussions or arguments as a poster and when something goes against him he is very heavyhanded to give out infractions. After I pointed this out to him that "a moderator should only moderate" when acting like a moderator and NOT when acting as a poster I got my "50 points infraction" for violating the CoC. He still does this on a regular basis.

I guess I now will get another "infraction" for critizising or discussing a moderator's decission. :o

I've recently received two reports on oversized banners - one has been resized and the other has had an email sent requesting action on his behalf before I take action.

If you have any others, send the reports now.

My first "infraction" also was for the heinous crime of posting an oversized picture, I would have thought a warning could/should have been more appropriate for a "first offender". I was so upset at the time I was within a whisker of leaving this forum and giving away the whole Content Creator scene for good and to tell this particular moderater to stick it "where the sun don't shine". His name is NOT "Paul9" but I will not name him for fear of getting banned again. But I guess this will still get me another "infraction"

I am 68 years young tomorrow and I consider myself a well behaved member of this forum. In my younger days I was the CEO of my own building company with sometimes well over 50 people employed at any given time. This would have qualified me with dealing with all sorts of different people at any given time with all sorts of problems to sort. The last thing on my mind would have been to upset a moderator here.

I was a moderator myself some time ago on another forum with over 250.000 registered members. I never ever had complaints against me for over 5 years doing my moderator duties there, although it was always necessary to sort flaming and arguments on a regular basis.

My theory is, with some moderators, not necessarely here, it goes to their head and some of them, again, not necessarely here, feel important to wield a stick, pen or whatever heavyhanded where a warning would be appropriate, particular for a first minor offence. :hehe:

As said, at the time I received my first infraction as pointed out above I felt to give it all away and I still think a few or possibly a lot of members NOT being here in this forum anymore might have done exactly the same and left for this reason. This is something to ponder for some moderators here as it is NOT the member's loss, it is this community's loss.

My 2 cents worth.

Cheers

The only one who sees it is you....friends and society don't have a clue.. unless you tell them....don't look at it if it bothers you. It truly is no big deal...to most of us, I hope...
