Where are the links, tutorials etc for trainz.
I've just bought 2006 ; how do you down load; one scenario says add your favorite train and go, how do you do that. Where do you go for info on the editing capabilitys of the game.
??????????

I think you get the drift.

Thanks.

RTFM! :p

What I mean, you should read the manual for TRS06. I hear you say, where is the manual? Look in your installed TRS06 folder where you will find a folder called "Docs" and there you will find the manual. For example Page 62 refers to placing a train into Surveyor and if you read up more you will be surprised to find heaps more of information and help.

There is also a "Help" menu top left in Surveyor which also will tell you some help.

I think the manual(s) can be also found on your install disk but I haven't looked there in a long time.

I forgot to say, once you have registered TRS06 with AURAN, you can access the Download station via the internet from where you can d/load to your heart's content.

Be aware, unless you buy a First Class ticket, you will have a very slow download speed. A FC ticket will give you a much faster d/load speed, the reason for the cost of a FC ticket is to pay for running and maintaining the DLStation.

You will find the DLStation link on top right of this forum.

Thanks VinnyBarb .

Yes there is the manual , what I was asking is about ; how too's, tutorials,
what is this about?
I drove a steam engine today, never fueled the box, abused it, and um, what's next? ( It just kept on keeping on ! )

Not being sarcastic, thanks for your input, mate.

From the initial menu select Start, then from the main menu select Driver.

That will present a list of layouts, and for each layout a set of pre-prepared driver sessions that can be run on that layout.

In UK edition of TRS2006 you'll find the first tutorial under the British Midlands layout, driver session " Tutorial 1 - Controls". Look for the other tutorials and run them in numerical order, there are six of them. (I'm not sure if other editions of TRS2006 differ slightly but if they do then the principle will be the same.)

Running the tutorials and reading the aforementioned manual should get you going.

There's a list of some of the things you can do in Trainz here. Trainz is a simulation not a game, so it's open ended and you can do what you like.

For specific questions try searching the documentation and this forum and if you can't find the answer post a new thread here. Almost everyone on this forum remembers when they started and had the same questions, and will try to help.

If you run a steam loco in Driver in DCC mode an engine can run forever. If you run it in the more realistic CAB mode you have to shovel coal and inject water to keep it going. You also have to replenish water and coal in the tender in some sessions.
