Importing TRS2006 content to TS09?

Hi all

Apologies if there is already a thread on this subject.

I have been a 2006 user for a while and there is a lot of content in it's "Local" folder that would make my life easier if I could get it into TS09.

Snag is there is a huge amount of dross too!

Given 2006s way of filing stuff, in the local folder, does anyone know a way of identifiying specific assets? Various windows searches can't seem to find KUID's for example.

Help would be appreciated.

Pete.

The local folder is a database meant to be read by CMP in 2006. Why don't you make a folder on your desktop for CDPs you want to import to 2009, and work your way down the list?

You'll have plenty of time' because when you DO import them, you'll probably have a great many fixes to attend to.:)

Hi Euphod

Thanks for the advice - it worked OK. But as you intimated some interesting results. Couple of layouts loaded OK and then another seemed to lose all assets! CDP'ing individual assets seems to work each time - so far.

Well, I'm glad that worked. I chose to import my entire (15Gb) local folder from 2006 into 2009 in one shot. It took a few hours, then longer to commit everything. I ended up with alot I could have done without, and much of it throwing up all kinds of errors.

I think you got the better of my mistake.:)
