We need a lot more detils than what you gave us. For instance:

What operating system?
Is there any message when Trainz shuts down? If so, what?
what is your video card?
have you run "TrainzDiag.exe"? If so, what were the results?
How much RAM do you have?
Have you checked the Event Viewer for details?

That may do for starters.

By looking at your previous posts you have obviously been using Trainz already so have you changed something that has caused this problem? Have you tried changing between Directx and OpenGL?

If you've updated your graphics drivers it will alter some of your settings, check them to see.

No his problem is this;

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/show...s-and-where-to-get-them&p=1021763#post1021763

SLOW DOWN. Instead of clicking on Start, click the Content button, start with this;

http://www.trainsim.com/vbts/showthread.php?311266-Revert-to-original

And then reset the filter for faulty=true, see what you can do to clean that up. If all else fails try the quick database repair, if that doesn't fix it then the extended database repair, if that screws it up beyond repair then you'll need to delete the whole smash and reinstall it, then go through the patches again. I'm assuming you don't have a complete backup of the entire TS2010 folder, might be a good idea to do that once you have it working again. And don't download 50,000 new things each day without testing to make sure you're not installing something that's gonna break everything else.

I have had his a bunch of times and it is always the same thing. sometimes telling me to reboot computer. Start Trains, immediately go into options and set Open GL and the screen resolution you normally use and that's it. Takes a few seconds. For same reason, Trainz likes to switch to direct X and 1024 x 768 and the warning I get is it can't communicate with the graphics card when that happens, if I get a warning at all besides that Trainz just won't start.

Could you take a look at my post above (#2) and respond? If we have more information, then we can help; otherwise we're just fishing in the dark.

Usually happens if you do an edr/update graphics drivers- or anything that causes a revert to standard settings, which can be almost anything. Even a hiccup at the wrong time.

I am with 4ndylloyd on this one. I have found that from time to time trainz decides to change the settings from DirectX to OpenGL and change other settings on its own accord, without you changing the settings. This is very annoying because when it does this, trainz crashes to the desktop when you press the start button in the Options screen.
My suggestion is that you change the Display Settings in the Options startup screen from OpenGL to DirectX (or the other way around if you usually run trainz in OpenGL) and uncheck the Disable Hardware TL in the Advanced tab.

This has always solved the problem of crashing for me.

Note that the original poster has not returned. Until then, and we get system specific information, all we can do is guess at things that MAY help.
