I found this question on trainz commuter and I thought why not bring it to the forums. So in saying that

What railroad would you want to have? What will your services be provided by you railroad? What will you rolling stock look like? What will your roster be?

If you don't want to buy one, how will you fictional railroad look like? Describe in detail or the best way you can.

If I Could Own ANY Rail System
I Would Put The Sacramento Northern System Back In
With The Multi MILLION dollar project to a high powered train in the LA area is absurd
the money that would be made hauling passengers from San Francisco to Sacramento would be HUGE!
and not to mention, people could expand and get jobs in places farther than the local areas

not to mention mail, it would be a hell of a lot cheaper and FASTER to send mail from San Fran to Sac by the SN System
if I had a few hundred million dollars
I would put the damn SN back in and restore enough SN rollingstock to make up a time schedule

I would buy the Maumee and Western Railroad from the idiot running it now and fix it properly.

You couldn't go wrong with any road that primarily hauls coal, that's about to be a profitable enterprise in a few months!

I'd rebuild the Chicago, North Shore and Milwaukee. This was quite an interurban that was cut down before it could have really have been put to use. Today this would be a great asset because of the population and traffic congestion.
