You may already know but there’s a book “Where Did the Tracks Go in the Catskills?” written by Michael Kurdish. It covers most of the railroads in that entire area with schematic track diagrams for all townships between Rondout and Oneonta including the original and the modified routes around the Ashokan lake area plus a load of other related historical an industrial information. Well worth the $28 (plus UK postage).

I merged the same routes together and added a couple more tracks to allow for better interchange with the DB&EV. Part of this meant adding in another track for the switch engines that reside at the DB&EV stub.

To stop traffic on the Conrail mainline, I use Boat's ASB controller.

i might forget it completely because i just cant figure it out
Don't give up. Think about it, work it out on paper, and let it sit there for a while. Eventually, something will pop up, and you can try it and see if it works. If it doesn't try it again later with another idea. I've done this multiple times when attempting a merger between routes. Sometimes, it doesn't work initially but then later on it just snaps into place.
