IDE to SATA converters haven't quite been perfected for today's market of converting from old connections to new.
If you use this converter, be prepared for slower boot and transfer times (then standard IDE, without conversion). Some have reported that it slows down from the 33 MB/s IDE connection to a whopping 20 MB/s. Which may not be all that slow for some, but it is almost half as slow as standard IDE.
Some people have also reported that you can't install operating systems with the converter put on. It will boot just fine, just it won't install a full-blown operating system.
Most converters are made with light and cheap materials, and are very flimsy and can break off easily. This means that reliability is low.
So as long as you're careful, and you understand what you're doing, using this should be a piece of cake.
Here's a link for a $20 one from NewEgg's brand Rosewill. You can bulk them up for shipping and general discounts if needed.
