I'd like to ask "the question" ??? - "Uploading"

Anyone can claim to be QA beta tester doctor lawyer indian chief, don't necessarily make it true. Looks to me like a lot of kids learned how to upload stuff. Only one I'm wondering about;

City and Country USA KUID:721586:100001
Description, "Run your freight wagons between the mining areas and the heavy industrial yards whilst coordinating the passenger services bringing passengers to and from the busy metropolis."

Gee that sounds familiar, where did I see that routename and description before?
City and Country USA,<kuid:-1:100927> built into TS2010. Is cloning and uploading built in routes legal?

KUID links to GPavlich, and their profile states they are a QA Tester (Quality Assurance).

That said, all I find for them on the DLS are consists, no layouts/routes. The consists are basically ALL the ones that ship in TS12 - which all or most are just consists of cars. (The thought that someone was involved in all the quickdrive place-able consists have NO locomotives being a QA tester is frightening....)

I'll give N3V (Auran) the benefit of the doubt here. They make the consists so we can put our own engines on them. The US Coal 3000T, or whatever it's called, is a good example for this. Add a couple of these, break them up, etc., and you've got yourself a quick and easy to use coal consist. Since it comes with a filled and unfilled version, it's even easier to throw about on the route without having to configure.

These kinds of things remind me of samples to get the user to see what the program is capable and also act as kits to get us up and running quickly.

How about a section of the DLS just for the younger crowd. And by young I mean by age.
Kenny

I didn't read this thread, too much text, but did see this line. I was under the age of 18 when I got my first copy of Trainz. I was making some of the first content for it. Young age doesn't mean crappy work. It's not fair to discriminate against someone just because of their age. Likewise, I've seen some old fellas on here that were terrible at content creation, that created some real junk.

Having seen the idea that they are test uploads, I should amend my earlier statements.

I do web development and one of my larger projects was doing a webstore - I can distinctly recall adding test products to it (so if it blew up during testing I hadn't wasted time doing REAL products) and using imaginative items like:

THINGY!

It's amazing. $99.99

and

T-500 Hyperdrive

Big! Strong! Wow! $4.95

So perhaps it was a test, just a smattering of items and a throwaway description in order to check something out. This may be further supported by the fact that *I* at least can't seem to find them on the DLS.

Up until a couple of months ago I was a beta tester, GPavlich is exactly who he says he is, thus my comment about a test.

Seeing that "AAAAAA! Real trains" has disappeared that's probably what that is, Vern Moorhouse was getting his route kicked back a few weeks ago, and the unknown KUID check never has worked perfectly, so they're probably running upload tests. That's not what some of the others are tho, "train crash" the description "you crash aa train
ghgzgsrfrgrrexgyrxyhrxhrxhxrxrxr"

That has to be a kid.

Probably one of the pod people.....

Only consolation there is that the "kid" will probably get tired of trainz very quickly given his / her obvious complete lack of talent and move on to some other game.

I can't believe I didn't see this before, but "AAAAAA! Real Trains!" is probably an homage to "AAAHH! Real Monsters!" which would make me hazard a guess that like my kids, the tester is in their 20s.

Yeah, it was a regular thing with MSTS reskins, but since the route geometry extractor was so complicated that generally separated the men from the boys from the very start. Threads like this one usually only pop up when there's a flood of them, one every couple of months is usually ignored by most. Odd part is looking over some of the ones from a few weeks back I see a bare baseboard;

"Signal Track" with no description, 305 downloads?! :eek: Obviously that picture appeals to some people, otherwise why download it?
