I THINK TRAINZ SHOULD BE DONE FOR APPLE MAC

i am getting a MACBOOK pro in a couple of months time and im going to be devestated if i can not play trainz on it.....especially before bed as that is my TRAINZ time as i work 7 days a week and dont have much free time.....so i think that AURAN should have a TRAINZ MAC version.........im sure that there is going to be allot of people with me on this one as APPLE is slowly going to take over the GAMING on computers in the not to distant future...

Daniel, there have been a few threads popping up regarding a Mac port, but Auran have stayed silent, neither denying or confirming.

Needless to say, I agree with your point. :)

I would sympathize with your sentiments, but if Trainz means so much to you then one suggestion would be don't get the Mac until Trainz is available for it.

Another suggestion would be, keep your old system and just use it for running Trainz and use the Mac for everything else

Would seem to be simple solutions.

It would actually be better to have a PC for Trainz alone... you could optimise the settings to get the best frame rates possible :)
 
If you get the Mac, you could still run Trainz on Windows via Bootcamp. If you don't want to have to reboot your Mac each time you want to play Trainz, you could also download/purchase VMWare Fusion, which allows you to run your Bootcamp/Windows partition from Mac in a Virtual Machine, and it even looks like an normal App.
 
I tried running Trainz in a virtual machine (Parallels) and even my high-end iMac 27" (2010 model) couldn't run it smoothly.
Now I'm running Trainz on XP in Bootcamp instead and am getting quite acceptable frame rates.
 
I don't think it should. Why? Cause my PC version is still slightly buggy. (Though thankfully, alot less.) Auran needs to focus on one platform, and since the PC is superior when it comes to running games, thanks to its ease of interchangeability hardware wise, I think that it is clear what should be focused upon.(This being said, I think that Mac makes good software. Their hardware just kinda sucks. It is like Sega. I love Sega games, but the Dreamcast, just wasn't that good.)


That and you have no grammatical comprehension, so I don't think that you deserve it. Maybe once you graduate the 4th grade.
 
Trainz on MacBook Pro

There was a review of the MacBook Pro in Wired Magazine a year or two which said "A high-end MacBook Pro is the best Windows gaming PC on the market" I'll leave to the Mac owners as to which of several available Windows emulators you should use, and of course you will have to buy Windows 7 as well.

But that said, many Mac owners run Windoows games as well as other software only running on Windows.

As we apparently have shifted this discussion to Macs and Windows computers, I would like to offer my two cents.

To me, Macs are decent machines. Personally, I would never buy one. I don't think they are worth it at the moment. I was reviewing a Best Buy magazine recently. They wanted almost $1,000.00 for a MacBook, and only $700.00 for a Dell Laptop. The Dell was almost twice as good as the MacBook...

I'm sorry, but I'm a Windows person. However, I have seen Windows XP Professional and Vista operating systems on the Mac. I do believe if you install this operating systems, you may have a chance to run Trainz on a Mac.

I have a Macbook Pro, 15" and I use bootcamp, and I can run Trainz 2010 with all the settings maxed out
Mac's are a great office user, and they're becoming more of everything now
