I just happen to think, is N3V still coming out with the Nintendo Wii game, Turbo Trainz, and if so, does it have anything to do with Trainz at all?

I knew that it was made by Broken Switch Studio's, and has the game been released for America, that's another question, as few have the ISO demo of it on youtube. And it would be good to take all the maps, trains and stuff, and rip the game to put into Trainz format. The Thomas Hero Of The Rails game for Wii was ripped not that long ago, and the actual train models were downloadable, and still are, though you have to search mediafire, due to HIT entertaiment for taking the original links down at the Sodor Workshops site.

No, they done it with the Thomas Hero Of The Rails Game. But HIT told them to remove the links. And remember, all we would need is N3V's Permission. And N3V help to make the game, and N3V own's Trainz. And how could that be piracy? And maybe a bit of Nintendo's Permission.

Why would we rip it out? It's probably more animated fictional stuff that is designed for those 10 and under, compared to Trainz, which is designed for a much more mature audience.

His track shows that he's registered, does it not?

However, once again, the license is likely going to state that you can not reverse engineer the game. That means no "ripping" as you call it. Regardless of who made the game.

All the parties involved (Broken Switch Studio, N3V, and possibly Nintendo) have a commercial interest in the game, and are going to want you to buy the game so they can make money. Period.

i know that, and did you mean to play the game, or for registering for planet auran. Also, I wasn't going to do such a thing. Someone else might.

To reply to that, I saw the video's and it wasn't fictional at all.

Um, the one I saw was a total cartoon that looked like it came from the minds of the makers of Donkey Kong 64.

where is this thread going exactly? This should be closed before it turns into a flame war and we all go down and get in trouble or maybe re-rail this boxcar and quit with the piracy crap. So lets get back to "turbo Trainz"

Erm, piracy is a valid topic of discussion. In fact, N3V seems to be pretty tolerant of pirates accessing the forums, for a company so concerned about piracy. Even a confessed pirate pretty much can't get banned. You probably weren't regularly monitoring the forums, but, if you were, remember Korikova? She admitted to pirating Trainz pretty much right off the bat and still stuck around.

Good Afternoon all

First off, unless you have permission from the software developers, 'ripping' the artwork from software is not appropriate. You'll find that the EULA for the software will cover reverse engineering of the software, which includes 'ripping' the artwork in most cases.

As to piracy (which the above can come under as well), we do not tolerate piracy. Sometimes a moderator may not be able to review posts immediately, or the ban may have been temporary (we are willing to give people another chance in many cases), however in the case mentioned above the user was banned after being given a second chance.

Regards
