I have verified that there are issues with the (TFX) Jointed Rail Train Effects libraries.

I have had reports from the comminty that the DES SD70s fans do not animate please read this.
After many hours of trial, and error. I tested on 3 different high end Desktop PCs, window 10-64, & Windows 11.
RTX 3080s. I have verified that there are issues with the (TFX) Jointed Rail Train Effects libraries.
Jointed Rail Settings library Debug is always turned on for all of these tests.

<kuid2:45324:555246:8> Jointed Rail Train Effects library v 1.47 Breaks the Driver Notifications, No Compressor sounds, and no SD70 top radiator fans animations.

The awesome assets JR's animated Fans installed on the SD70s are made to be automatic by the Locomotive engine loads.
<kuid2:45324:555246:7> Jointed Rail Train Effects library v 1.46d (builtin), Driver Notifications are working with this Jointed Rail & the Train Effects library v 1.46d (builtin), Yes Fan animations according to the Driver Notification Temps at 170 first fan turns on, 2nd Fan turns at at 190 degrees. The Fans shut off when the temps are down to 170 degrees.
The Compressor sounds are also working with these 2 buitin assets.

The Built in Jointed Rail (TFX) Train Effects library, yes Driver Notifications, yes Compressor and air sounds.
Working perfectly in Trainz build 122411 & 123794 has to be the builtin versions, updated new versions of the TFX Library & Rail Settings Library do not work, and break the Driver Notifications and Engine Temps, no Compressor sounds.

The Driver Notifications and engine Temps are back, working Compressor sounds, working animated top radiator fans.
<kuid2:45324:555201:2> Jointed Rail Settings library v 0.5 (builtin) V3.7 Good!
<kuid2:45324:555246:7> Jointed Rail Train Effects library v 1.46d (builtin) V5.0 Good!

Trainz build 122411, 123794 and later builds.
No Driver Notifications, no Compressor sounds.
<kuid2:45324:555246:8> Jointed Rail Train Effects library v 1.47 (broken)

<kuid2:45324:555201:4> Jointed Rail Settings library v 0.7 (broken)

I forgot to mention why when stopping the Locomotives there are no braking squeal sounds?
Only sometimes they work, but mostly never.

What is driver notifications? the temperature and load readout? This is controlled with the settings page:

where it says "Enable Debug Mode".

This will turn on the messages you are talking about, but they aren't in the driver interface anymore they are directed to the log now. Those are not really for your use, but use them if you wish. Should populate your log with the following if you have script logging on.

The Fans shut off when the temps are down to 170 degrees. has to use the builtin but no compressor or air brake sounds.

See above and check that your air sound fx are on. Settings library 0.7 corrected some mistakes from older game versions in how this settings menu was being read, maybe it is a case of the setting being off. Some air sounds are dependent on the type of locomotive you are using as well.

As for fans - none of this has been changed in ages, however the SD70 series itself had an engine overheating problem that was fixed in :7 that while not directly related to the fans it may just be introducing different triggering characteristics than you expect, but the fans always worked and still do.

<kuid2:45324:555246:9> Jointed Rail Train Effects library v 1.47a is imminent, I am just wrapping up testing. Just minor changes to edit interface and some code cleanup in this version but nothing having to do with what you mention here.

Thank You norfolksouthern37 for the reply.
Yes as I stated that the debug mode is always enabled, I also had checked boxed all of the options for every test.
I forgot to include this. I updated this in my list.

Disappointed that this was removed, The Log file is of no use to me.
I will need to not let any updated files to get installed to avoid losing these options.
But the other sound effects do not work with thse files below.
Verified that these 2 files do not work after testing over and over again, may be my Trainz build is not compatable with the updated ones.

OK well debug mode means that info goes into the log.

but the fleeting in game driver message window is? this makes very little sense.

up to you if you really need a debug option to be in your driver screen.

They most certainly are not broken, and even if the compressor sound didn't play and there is hardly proof, it is most definitely not game breaking.

norfolksouthern37 I do appreciate your help and replies.
I, and other trainzers like those realtime driver messages when driving the Locos.
Would have been even better if those Amp, and Temp meesages were included on the 3D dash interiors.

Although the Amp info is on some of the Locos as a dial meter.

The issue is that the community is complaining in P.M. messages that the DES SD70s have issues when thye certainly do not.
The issues are caused by the Trainz asset addon files getting changed for updated ones.

The Debug does turm on & off the driver messages in the drive mode.
My simple solution is to keep the default assets from not getting obsoleted.

It depends on the locomotive you are using but the information display was just for verifying things.

I do not know anything about the DES SD70s. Depending on how the engine specs are configured can effect the compressor.
