I've got the 2009 edition and i cannot get cars on the roads. When i had the 2006 version i got them and on this one i can't!

I've tried the car generators by snapping them onto the roads, maby im not using them properly.

Can anyone help????

Try clicking on the red car icon in the right panel in Surveyor, that button activates/deactives carz.

Other than that, I don't know what the problem could be.

What do you mean, in self builded route or in existing route?
While build a new route you must choose another region then the "default" please. In all other regions the cars are visible on roads that creates cars, only if you build a new route with the default region nothing will appear.

If the problem occur in existing route i havn´t any idea what it can be.

Hope that helps

What region have you chosen? If you choose the Default region, you'll have cars on the road.

There's a bug with the regions in TS2009. You need to install the program plus SP1 and any other patches that are available. This should fix the problem.

There's a manual way of fixing this, but I can't remember what it is.

Did you install it with your antivirus active? If so unintsall everything Trainz related and reinstall with your antivirus switched off.

I have AVG by the way (i don't know if that will help) But where would you go to uninstall the patch??

To disable AVG: Right mouse button click on the icon in your tray and look for exit.

Try reinstalling the patch again. If that doesn't work reinstall and redo the patch.

Did you run CM2 - Content Manager 2.0?
This should launch right away after the SP1 install. This has to rebuild your database prior to loading the program. If you canceled this from running, it can cause the program to fail.

I thought that if i opened the cm2 before i installed the patch it would do the update but then it started to repair the database, i thought that was it, when it had finished it still didn't work.

I have now turned off AVG and then tried to do the patch again but it says this:-
This patch file is not applicable to your current installation version.
(Build hash: a7393bf292e15192176e0587809cb4eb)

No valid patch operation was specified. Patching aborted.

I'm really confused now

Please help

Edit: I have decided i will start a new forum for this conversation It will be under SP1 DISASTER

I am now skipping this patch and waiting for sp2 to come out.

This problem still happens though

Is there anything else that would be stopping cars from appearing??

Bump!!!

I am still contracting this problem and i now have SP2 :'(

(for those interested, it turns out SP1 was already built in with the game i got (downloaded) so that was the reason why i couldn't patch)

What is the kuid number a route that has no cars? or is it your own route? If so you need to make sure the region in your route is available to TS2009 or change the kuid to one that allows cars.

Ten steps to British carz
1.......Go into CM2,
2.......Find your route map,
3.......Right click it,
4.......Now click edit/edit in explore
5.......From the explorer window, left click the config, file it should start out like this.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

region .............................................<kuid:-1:7803>
category-class ..................................."YM"
category-region ................................."GB;UK"
category-era ........................................."1890s;1900s;1910s;1920s;1930s;1940s;1950s;1960s"
carrate ...............................................0
thumbnails
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.........Make sure you have one empty line at the top.
7.........I have highlighted the second line for you, change yours to read the same.
8........Now save out.
9........In CM2 right click on the route again /edit/commit.
10......Now go play.

PS ignore the dots inbetween the gaps
