I cannot get downloaded items to show

I have downloaded several new routes and some assets to go with them and when I install them, nothing shows up in Trainz. I'm running the 2004 version and it used to work years ago when I did this, but now nothing is showing. All the kuids are going into the world\dispatcher\downloads file. Is this correct? Why doesn't anything show if this is where the stuff is supposed to go?

Have you got Paintshed and Trainz Objectz installed. Trainz Objectz can be found here....scroll down to the bottom for the download link.

I did not install Trainz paint shed at this time. I'm not sure but I think I saw Trainz Objects in the application folder. I am at work at this time and I will check when I get home. I will install paint shed tonight.

I have tried everything and nothing works. I cannot get new routes to show up or assets. I have installed paint shed, and trainzobjectz and I still get the same results. Trainzobjects shows the content in the download file but none of the stuff shows in the game. I'm at a loss.

Try this

Go into Program files/Auran/TRS2004/cache and delete the world_cache_dispatcher.chump. Run TRS2004 it will take a few minutes whilst it rebuilds the chump file. Hopefully this may solve the problem.

What operating system are you using? I suspect Vista and Windows 7 need correct permissions setting to allow content to installed.

Believe it or not I'm running Windows XP. Trainz used to work fine on my computer for years. I had a crash last year and had to reinstall windows but I wouldn't think that would cause the problem I'm having. Everything else in the program works. I really can't remember how paint shed worked before but it doesn't look familiar to me the way that it shows up now though.

i am runing trains sim 2010 and i have the same problem the assetes that i download do not show on surveyer.I am runing in windows 7

Go in surveyor into the options menu, surveyor settings and untick "display favourite content only.."

I had a similar problem trying to download locos and cars to use in TRS2009. They would appear to download in Content Manager, but when I opened Surveyor and looked for them in the Train Tab, they weren't there. The problem turned out to be that the older assets' (TRS2004, TRS2006) mesh were not compatible with the newer mesh used in TRS2009.

You might want to check the answers to my Feb. 26th post, "Can't commit added assets while saving a session."
