Hump yards

Hi all is there a track object that slows down wagons whilst going over humps in hump freight yards (its a system where a shunter would shunt a number of wagons up an incline then as they near the top the wagons roll away from the rest of the train with the use of gravity then the system on the track slows wagons which then sorted in to differant sections of track.

The retarders can also be used to slow down or stop cars in applications other then humpyards. Pretty slick doo-dads.

Hi Lars:

Its not impossible (since I've already placed two on the DLS).:hehe:

I have an idea that could use an anti-retarder (for lack of a better name). A gadget that instead of slowing or stopping a traincar, actually starts or speeds it up (weird but true).

sounds neat;)

Wonder if you can reverse or modify the script in the speed retarders, to do this?

To freightcar2:

The retarders can be programmed to slow cars down (to what appears to be about 1 or 2 mph max) or stop them completely. The how-to info is in the humpyard kit. Furthermore you can have several on a route and they can be programmed independently (some to slow cars down and some to stop them). Like I said earlier - neat gadgets.

To Lars:

It might be possible but they are not my items so I don't think its correct for me to go fiddling around with them (after all, they were nice enough to give me permission to cite them for use outside the humpyard kit).

Hi Ben.

If you want to, i can call Lars (LLJ) and ask for his permission.
He lives not so far away from me, so it should be easy.

Just give me a sign, and im on the phone;)

Sorry to get off-topic If I am, but I have a slight problem with the Hump Yard Kit Manual. It showed the images the first time, but now I can't view them, not even after selecting "view image". Care to shed some light?

Hi Lars:

The entire kit is from TrainzProRoutes and not on the DLS so I'm not at all certain how to go about much of anything involving items like it. The last thing I want to do is step on someones toes. It would seem to me I would need permission from whoever made it and TPR.

Ben

In a thread from long-ago (perhaps!) he said he got permission from Lars at TPR to email it to us.;)

Thats correct, freightcar.
I did get permission from LLJ to send it to whoever wanted the kit.
It dosent mean we can do what ever we want to do with it.

We are very careful about those things;)

You can of course do what ever you want with it on your own computer, as long as you dont share it without the authors permission.
