What a site!!!:udrool:

After looking and searching for weeks for decent "packs" of textures and trains etc. I came across this Russian site. It has 80mb to 200mb packs of trees, grasses, textures, fences, buildings for you to download, all in SpeedTree and all for FREE!

I can't believe how well it's made either, totally top notch.

And then the locomotives.... they all have their (70mb, ok) own cockpits, faithfully redesigned! Defenately going to make a Russian route and go back to school to learn Russian!:p

If anyone of trainzup reads this; Keep it up!:D

Oh and if anyone feels offended in any way (can't imagine how, but some people have bigger ego's than others;)) If there is a British, American, Australian, Japanese, Turkish or Angolan site that has the same, please let me know.

Looks like they have some nice stuff. Rather than learn to read Russian, I just used a translator...

Wow, those Russians and Eastern European Trainzers really are good, the quality of their content is amazing, you would think they had a far more advanced program than the rest of us. No wonder they won near all the screen shot competition prizes. :o

Put those pistols away now boys. :hehe:

Interesting site. That main drawback is that they use Rapidshare for all file hosting. Download speed, unless you pay for access (much like you-know-who) is around 1.5K/sec. Of the six files I attempted to download, only two of them were available. The rest were "unavailable due to limit of 10 downloads reached". I don't know if that was due to me not paying, or if that is a condition of Rapidshares free hosting.

Heck, I can do better than that on my site. ;) It's all free.

Track gauge - European vs Russian

I just downloaded from this site cdp containing set of fine looking tracks "1520_rail.cdp". Interesting thing is that these tracks are of standard European and US gauge, 1435 mm or 4' 8.5", despite all Russian railways use wide gauge of 1520 mm or 4' 11.85". You can use this track in your existing routes, but I wonder if one can download the wide gauge track to build Russian prototypical routes.

I'm confused about the references to RapidShare. When I go to http://trainzup.com/ and click on an item and then click the download button for the item, it appears to download directly from the site. I downloaded several of Pofig's tree packs this morning and there was no re-direction to RapidShare that I could see.

You can download straight from their site at about 600kb/sec.
I've downloaded more than 20 big files without a hick up!:)

All work and no fun...

Unfortunately, my love affair with TrainzUp was rather short-lived. I quickly downloaded some of cdp (tracks, bridges, signals, electrification system v4). It's true this content looks nice if not overly complicated, but it is not enough to built even simplest route and it is too Russian specific to be included in routes for other countries. The easiest way to build my own Russian route would be to download one and copy from it, but this could result in thousands missing dependencies and similar problems. So, I tried to download a locomotive - "Diesel M62-1109" and see if it is truly complete. Unfortunately, it was not. Then I tried something easier - "Flora Pack ST5" and got missing dependencies again. I searched TrainzUp forums and found numerous posts crying for help in finding missing kuids. There were many useful answers and links to cdp, but usually this meant you need to acquire some additional payware.

Nevertheless, I am impressed with this site and I would like to hear from anybody wanting to share their Russian Trainz experience, especially in the areas of signaling and electrification. Being East-European myself I know little Russian and I could translate some of the manuals, but it could take a while. So, I would like to know if anyone else is interested.
