How to use Coal Stage by Dave_Westwood

Hi.

I used "Coal Stage" by dave_westwood, an industry enabled coal loader, in an old route that I no longer have. Now I want to use it in a new version of the route, and I cannot remember how I got it to work. I have the coal train stopping at a trackmark, so that the first coal wagon is under the stage. Do I need a "load" command? Or how else do I get it to load the wagons?

It's embarrassing, I had it working perfectly in the old route!:o

Thanks,
Mick Berg.

Hi Mick - This is an active industry so you need to Navigate to the Coal Stage and then issue a Load command. The capacity of the stage is not very great and it soon runs out of stock. Use short coal hoppers and locos that are not very tall else they pass right through the support members of the stage.

You can increase the starting coal level to 80000 KGs in the properties window. If you need more than that, edit the queues container in the config file.

Cheers - Trevor

Thanks Trevor.
I am just using an N2 and 5 small wagons so it works fine. I needed a small one. In fact, I bet that in reality this coalyard (Wells Terrace at Finsbury Park on the ECML) didn't have a mechanical loader and the coal was moved either by a steam shovel or even manually shovelled!

I don't suppose anyone knows of an industry asset that is based on a steam shovel???? I will look around for one myself.

Thanks,
Mick.
