How to update my content on the DLS?

A long time ago I created an object. Just a simple recycle bin that we find here in the US. kuid2:210725:60001:1 Now that I'm back with Trainz I wanted to update it. The actual object hasn't changed but the config.txt was out of date and there was no thumbnail. So I opened it for editing, made the updates, submitted my edits and tested it.

Now I want to upload it but that option is greyed out. I tried raising the version number (to :2) but couldn't then submit it back. I looked around the wiki but didn't find anything except for a pointer to a video I was not allowed to view on YouTube.

I'm sure it's simple but escapes me right now.

Thanks,
Bill W

Which version of Traniz are you using? If its Windows and TANE which is probably the simplest then in CM highlight it then in the content menu select create a new version.

Now right click the new version and open for editing and show in explorer. Make your edits, submit edits, right click again and upload to DLS.

Have fun.

Got it! Thanks!

That was the trick. I'm using T:ANE on a Mac but the idea is exactly the same. My problem was that I was using right-click and that doesn't have Create New Version! I had to go to the actual Content menu.

Thanks, Bill

Do not attempt to submit an asset with a changed KUID. Instead, use Import Content (TS12) or Import Content Folder (T:ANE) and import the folder that contains the updated asset. You do NOT want to overwrite the original.
