How to switch out trucks?

How would I go about switching out the trucks/bogeys under a car or locomotive? I downloaded the 40' Blue Circle Cement hopper from the DLS, something it wrong with he trucks. They are red and ugly. I tried to edit the script to put new ones under it, but it wouldn't let me change anything.

Edit the traincar's config.txt file to change the kuid numbers listed for the bogey tag(s) to kuid numbers of those you like, also edit the kuid-table entries if they're present. Save and commit.

Be aware that if the attachment points on the bogies that you want to use don't match the ones that you're replacing, they might not show up in the correct location. Otherwise, all that you have to do is replace the bogey kuids in the config.txt file for the ones that you want to use

How do I edit it? It won't let me change anything. Or where would I go to edit it. The way I've tried it is this. In content Mgr, I pull up the car, right click and select view Config file. It won't let me change anything.

Try editing it instead of viewing it...

There is no option to edit it in content mgr. Anyway, I figured it out on my own. For those that don not know, once you open the car for edit. You have to leave content mgr and open your trains folder. Then go to editing and you'll find the config file in there that you can edit.

Got the trucks swapped, but now my couplers have disappeared.

Or, in Content Manager, right click the kuid and select Edit - Edit in Explorer and it will extract the kuid data from the local folder and place it in the edit folder and open windows explore so you can edit using the Notepad.

I know that one can alter the kuids in the config file of the TGV, and other default Auran loco's, and change the hornsound, bellsound, enginesound, and cab...but can the trucks (bogies) be changed ?

Also with Auran default trucks on the Paintshed freightcars, can the default trucks (bogies) be switched to more realistic or animated ones.

Which trucks work the best in replacing default Auran bogies?

The trucks can be replaced with the 33", or other US-type trucks such as the arch-bar depending upon the age of the car. I did this with a ton of older content. This really made the difference in how the cars looked on the tracks. Instead of having paper-wheels, they had realistic looking ones.

I put some silver EMD Blombergs on a TGV, but it looked a bit non-High Speed...tried some other high speed passenger trucks and the attachment points were either way too high, or way too low. Will try an Acela cab on a TGV...lol

Still searching for the best looking friction bearing bettendorf trucks for the Auran default freightcars...more experimenting tomorrow.

Why do 06 Auran default locos and cars have such carpy wheels...lol :p
I hope in TS2010 the wheel animation is more detailed and is better looking than the default 06 bogies.
