what do you mean by plugins - I have never heard the use of the term for trainz before

in ts2010 it really easy from CMP you click on your item and tell it to upload
If I want to upload it in ts2009, is it the same?

Are meaning you wanting to upload your route, or asset to the DLS, so others will see, and be able to use, your route or other asset ?
Yes, I just want to upload a locomotive asset to DLS.
If I upload it in TS2010, does it mean that the asset verion is TS2010?
Maybe I should ask this question at 'DLS, FCT'.

By using the Trainz-build tag and the proper number for the version you are setting. If you use CCP it will be done automatically, and then it will choose the build number of whatever version you are using (ie:2010) unless you change it manually.
Of course whatever version you choose, you have to be sure the content is properly made for that version. I believe the content that is being revised for the DLS is made using Trainz-build 2.9

I failed in uploading my assets by TS2009, and the error message showed that the kuid numbers were obsolete.
Right click the asset then "create new version"
