Not to sure about this one in CMP, but I would guess that maybe you can not edit one that's there BUT you maybe able to create your own. I forget the name of the thread but zatovisualworks gave an example of this (he may have also uploaded it to the DLS). Look for a thread about changing the vehicles or something similar.

Hope this helps.

Well, you can't edit the file by viewing it....

but if you pull up the route on CMP and right click and choose "Edit in Explorer" you can edit your heart out and save the changes and then commit the object again.;)

Thank you, dear Craig, for quoting me... ;)

And here you are... Maybe you are interested in point 7. ;)
Instructions for everyone interested:
1. After installing and committing, open TRS2004/2006.
2. In Surveyor, New Route –> Region –> Vintage United States
3. When you set up a road, 15 different whecsailor’s superb vintage cars will run over it.
Those are:
car0 <kuid:67261:29014>
car1 <kuid:67261:29000>
car2 <kuid:67261:29001>
car3 <kuid:67261:29002>
car4 <kuid:67261:29003>
car5 <kuid:67261:29004>
car6 <kuid:67261:29005>
car7 <kuid:67261:29006>
car8 <kuid:67261:29007>
car9 <kuid:67261:29008>
car10 <kuid:67261:29009>
car11 <kuid:67261:29010>
car12 <kuid:67261:29011>
car13 <kuid:67261:29012>
car14 <kuid:67261:29013>
Those cars should be installed in your TRS (Do not worry, CMP will show missing assets if not all of them installed -the whole set are on the DS, great job by whecsailor- )
4. Remember that traffic density only depends on the carrate tag on the config.txt of road you are using. The lower (minimun 3) the denser.
5. Clone and modify it as many times as different period cars you need.
6. You could also change the default lever appearing on junctions by changing the kuid number on the config.txt tag:
defaultjunction 100634
7. For existing routes -after installing this region- their config.txt tags region should be changed into “Vintage United States” or type <kuid:86311:1900>.
8. Have fun and enjoy it!

That's the first time I've seen anyone do a kind = region custom asset. Very clever.

If there was one for Chile, I would not need to make my layout region "USA" just to get the traffic to be on the right side of the road. In fact, it would be great to have region assets for lots of different countries other than the defaults of USA, Britain, Australia, Swiss_Alps and Germany.

Are they difficult to make?

Zato, is kuid:86311:1900 on the DLS or only at IberTrainz?

:hehe: For my dearest 'pedant' :hehe: Deane:

Yes, it's on the DS too. ;) And at the TPR Download Depot. I did it just for fun and practice (as all my humble stuff is :hehe:)

BTW, it's not the only one I did.

There's a European late 20th one for this module of mine...

Excellent work, as usual Alberte. I got it now from the DLS. How did I miss this one? Too busy in my own little region, perhaps.

Can you give us some instructions about how to make this type of asset? I could find nothing in the TRS2004 CCG, but I'd like to make one or two for exotic regions not already covered by default, or by your assets. I should not hi-jack this thread any further, so maybe send me an e-mail about it?

Not need for that, Deane, I've just written a blog entry on the TrainzDEV site:

http://www.trainzdev.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=118&Itemid=9

Hope it helps you and everyone.

:sleep:BTW, I tried to do it on the Trainzdev Wiki article on this region asset section, but IMHO the editing tools there are so dull and unfriendly that I surrendered. Sorry. If someone (or maybe at Auran's) wants to tidy up the mess I did there  :hehe:, go ahead and thank you very much. ;)

[Edit]Second chance: :hehe:

Well, I gave myself a second chance on the Wiki and now it appears to be a bit tidier than before. :D

See it (or change it) here
