How To Change Track ?

Is it possible to change all the track in TR2010 automatically? I remember years ago that there was a way to do it in TRA2004. I can't find any info on it in the manual or on Google.

Thanks for the help in advance,

Harold

No but im about to. Iv'e got the route all backed up and ready to go. Thanks. Darn Google....makes a difference how you word your question i guess cause i just found reference to Repace Assets too

Thank you Shane,

Harold

It's OK - just remember that you have to drag the name of the asset from the track tab into the Replace Assets box, not the asset from the preview window or from the 3D world itself.

Be aware that bridges, tunnels etc may not be changeable using that tool.

No, Replace Assets does not work. It's all greyed out except for This Section Only. Im going to go looking thru your tutorials now.

I haven't personally got one for Replace Assets (yet), but I can advise on it.

Firstly, you will need to drag the name of the asset you want to replace into the Assets to Replace part of the box, then drag the name of the asset you want to replace it with into the Replace With box.

Make sure This Section Only is unselected (i.e. not in yellow/orange), then click Replace. If there's a lot of track to replace, it may take a minute or two.

I am trying to replace a track called "Old T1" with a track called "2 track AS49". Both show up in CM and when i go to the route and click on "Get Track" it shows up in the top window and im able to use it. BUT ! They do not show up in the list under the top window therefore i can't drag them anywhere. This layout was created in TRS2004 which is probably the biggest problem im having right now.
It just seems odd that if i have it in CM why doesn't it show up in the list of tracks?
If i place another track down and select one that is listed it converts over to the new track with no problem. So i know that Assets to Replace is working correctly its just that the tracks i am using can't be found in the list. I can't even find them in Trainz Download.

Guess i'll have to forget about using Assets to Replace and do it on piece of track at a time. And i've got a big layout.

The other problem could be that Harold has a filter set. If you do that, you can't select the item to put into the replace assets utility.

The following assets cannot be replaced using the Replace Assets tool:
- Bridges
- Tunnels
- Any "solid white line" spline (you lay the spline or move a vertex, and the spline turns into a solid white line)
- Multiple tracks
- Fixed-track or fixed-spline objects i.e. industries, intersections

The reason for this is that were you able to replace these assets, some spline properties may glitch in the process. This would create more problems than the average individual can handle, so they simply don't allow it.

Need to give us exact KUID numbers, I'm showing 2 track as49,<kuid:9:50002> as built into TS2010, but coming up empty for "Old T1". In any case if I try to replace any track with 2 track as49 I get the "Bridges, tunnels, multiple track and trains are not allowed." 2 track anything qualifies as multiple track.

I tried to change the track mentioned above and found that it would be impossible to find the many bridges that would match the track. I'm just going to replace the track manually by deleting the single track with dual track and try to figure out what to use for the new bridges. One more reason im not going to be purchasing TR2012. I never use the built in layouts anyway so it would be unproductive.
Many thanks for the help guys. Spent yesterday with my wife at the hospital which is why i didn't get back to you sooner.
