Hi Everyone

Can anybody tell me is it possible to change the track type across the whole of my route.

I've been using UK Wooden Single and would like to change all my track to grey wood clean std 08m, it's not possible to do this manually because I have about 500 miles of track so I'm hoping to find a way of changing entries in a config file somewhere.

Please help me.

Replace assets tool in the Surveyor menu.

Select and highlight the track you want to replace in the list not the top box and drag to the "Assets to replace" box and do the same with the new track but drop it in the "Asset to replace with" slot.

Click Replace.

Well, I did not think it would be that easy, thank you very much Malc your help has been much appreciated.

Thanks:D

Oh trust me, it never was that easy. However, thanks to improvements made by Auran, it is. In TRS2006, it's all manual replacement.

Cheers,
Joshua

before that you had to use a 3rd party app called "TrainzMap" and it wasn't a 100% guaranteed swap.

Hi Everybody.
If you are using replace asset tool in 2010 then I would strongly recommend that you backup your route first. Although the replace asset feature is a good advancement when I used it to replace all the track in My route of approximately 80+ baseboards a few the junctions etc were not replaced accurately.

They sometimes were not connected at all or sometimes the signals attached just disappeared. It only happened with a few junctions and was soon put right but just in case it happened on a larger scale to back up before replacement may well be a good option.

As a side matter after I had replaced all the track I then decided I didn't like the new track so I went back to the old. It was a good exercise on how to waste half an hour in time.
