How do you put trains in your own layouts???

All versions are basically the same but it would be helpful if you told us which one you were using IE 2004 UTC 2006 ETC. Also, the manual explains all.

Open the route in Surveyor, then open the fly out menu with the wagon wheel icon, choose your engine(s) and rolling stock, then click on the track to place them.

Control+f2

Open the route in Surveyor, then open the fly out menu with the wagon wheel icon, choose your engine(s) and rolling stock, then click on the track to place them.

And after placing them in Surveyor hit Ctrl+f2 and Trainz will jump to Driver for you to test.
Once you have your stock and where you want it it's better to save, come out of Surveyor and go into Driver and then run.

Hello ScottishRails,

Providing that you have a version of Trainz that has Surveyor, You load the route into Surveyor....

Then you move around the route by right-clicking that "compass" thing further along down the track.

Then if you find a yard or industry that looks interesting, you can move the cursor to the top of the Surveyor screen...(let go of the right click first)

You will see a bunch of red dots up there. If you right-click on a dot, it will always 'remember' the nice area you have found. Then you can move on and find other nice areas (and right click another red dot) it will remember all the areas.

Then if you want to go to that area and put a train on it at any time, just do a regular left-click on any of those dots, which are now green.

Then you can place your trains from the list that comes up when you click the black 'wheel' icon. Then you can run the trains by clicking the little blue man up at the top of the Surveyor screen.

It will ask you if you want to save it first. You could do that, giving it a good name, then you will be able to drive it from Surveyor. It's a little tricky with the names, but you'll get used to it! Best of luck!! Bob P.
