How do you add signaling?

After I merged two routes, I added some double track to connect two open ends of the routes together. At the start of the newly laid track there is a spot or signal where I get a message from Trainz that tells me that "the track ahead is unsignaled". Perhaps it is because there are some junctions in that newly laid track? (I'll need those for future growth).

My question here is: how does one install signals for a situation such as this? Does dropping a signal tower or gantry just do the job or is there some kind of computer coding I need to learn ( not apt to do that since I'm not too savvy with writing programming )?

Thanks in advance for the assist....

Signals are "trackside" objects. Go to the Surveyor tab for tracks and click the middle of the three round buttons at the top of the panel, this will list all trackside objects. Find the signal you want and add it to the track by using the (+) button and clicking on the track at the required point (it will attach to the track).

There are some good tutorials here:

that's one of the first links to a tutorial that realy helps!
this sure will help me getting on track.

If you don't have a bumber at the end of the open track, you'll also get this message. Whenever I reach the end of a baseboard, or section I've been editing with no more track, I put a bumber on the end of the track. This allows the train to run right up to the end of the line at that point.

Thanks to everyone for the kind, quick responses. After reading the material, and making a few track changes ( basically to simplify the scheme of it all ), I was able to place the gantries, add the signals, and watch the signals change as the trains moved in and out of the blocks. Cool!

Thanks again!
