How do I turn off this web page warning message?

Lately I'm getting this security warning every time I open such innocent pages as Auran Trainz "My Content". Is there a way to turn it off permanently without screwing up my general computer security?

I'm guessing you use Internet Explorer looking at the message.

On older versions of IE, the setting is in Internet options on the Advanced tab - the setting refers to secure and non-secure items.

On IE7/8 (this may also apply to older versions) follow these instructions: (Be aware though, that if you are on a network, the network admin or technical support staff may be the only one(s) that can change the setting.)

For users who are able to change it:
1.Click Tools, then Internet Options.
2.Click the Security tab.
3.Click Internet (if it is not already selected)
4.Click Custom Level.
5.Scoll down the list until you find 'display mixed content' (Normally, it defaults to Prompt)
6.Click 'Enable' (the option above 'Prompt'
7.Click OK, then Yes if asked for confirmation.
8.Click OK in the Internet Options box to close it.

This may lower your security slightly, but it will remove that warning message.

You may need to close IE and re-open it for the change to take effect.

Not sure if this will correct that annoyance, but I use FireFox (no relation :)). I have never seen that message.

Only one problem - I is virtually impossible to avoid IE completely - updates, for example, require IE, and also any sites that require ActiveX controls (which seems to be fairly common on some sites) - the ActiveX issue also affects Windows Vista/7 as well as earlier versions.

I got IE...slowest of all, would not trade it for anything...

 But I'm a Windows Vista Home Premium Junkie...

So here is what you do...

Go to the Tools menu on your tab-bar.

Select Internet Options/Security Tab/Trusted Sites.

If this forum is not entered into the Add this website into the Zone, check it now...

Only if you have an active updated Internet Security, do you set the Security Level to Medium.

If so, uncheck the Require server certification(https) for all sites in this zone. This is because this Auran site is pretty well protected & constantly monitored for intrusions....as are most sites.

The rest is up to your Internet Security and/or Windows Firewall. But don't force Windows Firewall if you have any Payware Internet Security(I have Norton 360, Kaspersky or any full Internet Security Software will protect you).

Either way, go to your Allowed Internet Access Programs & enter every .exe file located by browsing your Trainz folder.

Trainz.exe, TS2010.exe, CMP.exe, Content Dispatcher.exe, CMv3.exe, or whatever I misspelled, to allow all Auran Trainz stuff to access the Internet. All of it is on a secure server.

Do this also for any other Website you visit frequently.

You'll never have to prove your bravery in any other way...:D

You will also notice that what I wrote is not all in one paragraph, jammed up like a wad of yesterday's wet New York Times copy....that's what FireFox does...:hehe:
