Thanks Aaron5

Oh Boy, paintshed, I was 4 when that came out I think, nope, you need photoshop, download a demo, although I'm pretty sure nearly everyone with a computer has photoshop. Then check the reskinning for dummy's tutorial at the trainz resources directory. And remember, when starting new thing, KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid)

While photoshop will work - you can use just about any image manipulation program. I use paint shop pro, some use Paint.net, others use "The Gimp". The demo of photoshop or paint shop pro are time limited and are great to test them out but if you plan to keep them, photoshop is expensive while paint shop pro is relatively cheap (I bought mine for $29.95). Paint.net and The Gimp are freeware available on the web.

The key to success with any program - make sure it will save uncompressed TGA files. You'll have to look for a button similar to "options" when you use the "save as" feature after modifying your skin.
