How Do I Decouple?

Newbie using Trainz 2010 EE cannot get past Tutorial 2 because I cannot decouple the box cars. I know ctrl-D decouples, but apparently I have to point to the set of couplers I need to decouple. So far I don't see any camera that gives me a close-up.

A detailed explanation would be very much appreciated.

Move your mouse pointer over the coupling & it will highlight the coupling in red, then use ctl-d.
You don't have to be able to actually see the coupling, it will 'shine' through the car.

Actually, you press Ctrl D first then hover the mouse pointer over the coupler area and the knuckle will appear in red. Move the mouse roller to zoom in if required. Left click once to open the knuckle. The image of the knuckle will disappear. Ctrl D again and hover over the area to see the knuckle and that it is open.
