How do I add to consists

I've been looking on the forums for the answer but not found it yet.
I've managed to download a route (LMS in Ireland) OK but I'm having problems with the loco.
I down loaded the 'class 80' but don't know where it downloaded to.
I've looked in the Railyard and it is now listed in there but when I click on it to view it nothing appears.
I've also tried to add it to the consists list but can't seam to fine anyway of adding it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
ed.

Maybe you don't have "automatically commit assets" turned on. Open CMP and click the "Open For Edit" tab, then select everything there and press Control+M. The train could also be faulty. Does it show any red or yellow icons in CMP?

Thanks for your reply.
Went to CMP and did what you said.
The loco I wanted was not there , there was only 4 items there but I did control+M.
If only I could find this loco.
Any ideas.
Thanks,
ed.

Hi Ed,

Check that your loco isn't missing any dependencies or faulty. If either of these conditions exist, it won't show up in Surveyor.

hi John
The problem is I can't find it.
This is what I did.
I located the loco that i wanted from the download station 2004,Class 80. 4 items (3 carriages + engine)
Then to download page.
It appeared in the download helper and I clicked on start.
After it had down loaded I went to the Railyard and the listing was there but only 1 picture would show up.
Not sure how to load it into consists but if I can't find it I can't load it into consists.
If I go back and try to download it again from the download station it appears in the helper but will not download when i click start.
Not sure if I have done this right or not as I am only guessing that that's how you do it.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks, ed.

open the route you want to add the loco to
select create session
Open the rolling stock tab on the menu on the RH side of the screen

On the Left hand side of the page, at the top there will be 4 small icons
Hover the mouse over them and select the one called 'Content Search filter'. Its the second from the right
On the small window that comes up, type in the name of the loco you are looking for. If its there and you have typed it correctly it will come up in the Tab menu on the RH side. Click on it and place it on the track where you want it. After that it should show in surveyor in your system.
Then just select and place the other rolling stock you want from the list in the rolling stock tab.
Use the undo and redo options at the top LH side of the screen as you need to and just make sure that when you place each wagon etc they are close together so the will be 'hooked up' when you exit and save the session. Cheers

Edit' If it shows up red on the RH tab menu then it has errors

Something else to do so that you don't have this problem again
Open Content Manager
go to the File menu
Click on settings
then on the tabs click on Miscellaneous

Then on this screen ensure that in the slections on the LH side it says to 'Commit assets when starting trains' and down at the bottom on the RH side, put a tick in the option to committ cdp files
Cheers

Edit again: If it appears in Railyard the asset is in your game and as such its no use going back to the DLS as it wont download an asset that is already there thats why you are experiencing that problem. You just have to find it

You can create consists in Surveyor. Create a new route with a single stretch of track about 500-750 meters in length. Place your new consists on that stretch one vehicle at a time, then use the "Get Consist" tool to save it to your surveyor list.

Hi nimec,
Thanks for your help its been very useful.
No wounder I was getting know where fast.
OK this is where I'm at.
Every thing was going fine until I got to the part where I type the name in.
Just to say that the train formation is a 3 car, 1 driving car with engine, 1 driving car without engine and 1 center car.
When I typed in the first car (class 80 DMBS) it appeared on the right so I dragged it on to the track.
Now is that car surpost to show up sitting on the track because nothing is there.?
Same with the other 2 cars.
Something else I noticed, as I was typing out the name, as I was half way through I did notice that in the right hand side the names of the other cars showed up and 2 were in red until I had typed in the full name.
Having said that the one that did not show in Red, when placed on the track did not show either.
A bit difficult to explain but think that's it so do you think I may have errors on 2 of them.?
Also should the good one still show up on the track.
I was not sure if to save at that point but I did look in consists and they where not there anyway.
Any idea's.
Thanks,
ed.

OK just found some error messages in the 2 units and says no longer supported so I think that's why I'm not getting any where.

The way to put an asset on the track is to verify the correct one is shown in yellow lettering in the top window of the small tab [as you did] then click on the icon Get Train 'A' the one wit the + on it which is the top one and then click on the section of track where you want it. it will be placed on the track. If you want to shift it, hit 'Undo' and replace it where you want it.
I find it wont work if you try to place them too far away. Have a hover over these icons and a play with them to see what they do. you can Move, Rotate etc.
Then at the top of this little tab menu there are two larger icons
The loco one on the left will be highlighted with a circle round it if that's the one you are using [also for single one off assets]
Click on the other one and it will bring up a list of consists and another set of editing icons

Something else I noticed, as I was typing out the name, as I was half way through I did notice that in the right hand side the names of the other cars showed up and 2 were in red until I had typed in the full name.

Anything that shows up in Red in Surveyor has an error or errors and has to be fixed before it can be placed on track.
Cheers

Just a slight correction of Nimec's post:

When you click on an item in a Surveyor list, the '+' icon is automatically selected, so you can just click on the train and then click on the track and it will be placed.
