How did you discover trainz?

I was an MSTS user until I got tired of just running trains. I wanted to build routes and content so I looked on the internet to see if anything else was available and found Trainz. That was back in 2001 and I have been hooked ever since.

Funny story, I honestly cannot remember, I've got bad Memory, can't even get close to when I first got the game.....(I got TS2006 FIRST, then 12)

But I'll never regret joining, it's fantastic. A ridiculously amount of fantastic freeware and a simple railway(or railroad for you Americans) tool.

My aul fella had MSTS which I'd use now and again. I came across TRS2006 by pure chance and bought it for him but I probably ended up making more use of it than he ever did. Here I am 8 years later on TS12 and while I admit to having recently switched to 'the other sim' for my driving needs, Trainz remains the one to use for the engineer in me.

My daughter bought me a copy of MSTS for Christmas in 2001. Six months later I purchased a "19 Diesel Add On" for MSTS at a local computer store. While loading it into my computer, I checked on the back of the box to see to see if any steam locos were available.

The web site was Auran.com. I didn't find any steam locos, but I discovered Trainz, and downloaded a video showing how to construct a layout in Surveyor. I was so impressed that I immediately ordered a copy.

It arrived the first week of September 2002, and needless to say, it far exceeded my expectations. Since then, I've been continuously involved with Trainz, and I can say that I've never gotten bored with the hobby.
