hello to all members:

I went to mytrs 06 layout in surveyor and I did change the time from the default of 10:00am to 6:00am I saved and surveyor kept the time change of 6:00am but when I went to drive the layout the layout has the default as 10:00 am. how do you change the time in driver from 10:00am to 6:00am. according to the manual push f6 and then use the plus and minus signs to increase or decrease the clock. but f6 is the hud driver bar so its not f6. if some one please take a look at this and see what i'm missing. in the trs 06 manual page 77. oh by the way you cannot get to the world mode if you are in driver mode.

I 'll try to help! in surveyor click on session on top of screen, click on options click on 10 and change it to 06 then save. Go to driver and it should be 06:00 which is 0600 hours or 6 AM.

hello danny5 :
your advice was good but this is what I need to do for time 6:ooam to be shown like you said. top of screen in session I click on surveyor menu, then click on edit session then click on startup options, then scroll down to you see clock: 10 click on 10 and change to 06 and click on all 3 green checks and the save from the surveyor menu. same format you gave me but different headings thats ok. and my layout says 6:00am thanks for the help.

If you use TRS2004, or beyond, there is a "Request Session Time" rule on the DLS which allows to to select whatever time you would like at the start of the session.

There is also a "Regional Weather" Rule which allows you to control weather conditions.

If, however, you have the latest TRS2009 build, you should have Quickdrive already built-in which allows you to change a whole raft of things.

All the best

There are two separate time settings.

1. The default time for a layout in Surveyor, controlled by dragging the large clock's hand round the dial. When the layout is loaded in Surveyor, it will appear with lighting for that time of day. This can be different for each layout.

2. The starting times of each driver session. They are controlled in the properties of each session.

You're not alone, many people have found this very confusing.

So, does this mean, then, that if brakemen sets his dial in Surveyor to 6.00 am, and then starts up the session in Driver where the time defaults to 10.00am, that although it is mid-morning, the lighting will be set for 6.00am?

If that is the case, then that explains a lot - why in mid-summer my layout goes dark at 4.00pm! Up to now, it hasn't bothred me, as I just use Quickdrive to change the time to show daylight, dimpsy-time or or night (dark day) as takes my fancy!

("Dimpsy-Time" is an expression peculiar to North Devon and refers to Twilight, "Dark Day" refers to night shifts and was used by the railway staff at Bristol Temple Meads.)

No, the two times are completely independent of each other. I suspect the RGB shading in Surveyor will have an effect in Driver sessions though - but I've never actually checked it.
