How can i upgrade Trainz Classic

I have Trainz Classic Version 1, How can I upgrade it to version 3?

TC1/2 was one package, TC3 is mainly UK content and unless you are into steam locos and know enough to play with the engine specs there isn't much advantage in going to TC3 other than its the most stable efficient game engine at the moment. You would need to purchase TC3.

If you don't have TRS2006 you might like to consider purchasing it to get the built in content, mind you the same items come with TRS2009 so maybe go that way. TRS2009 download is fairly cheap but I understand the price goes up 1st April.

TRS2009 WBE could possibly be considered an upgrade but the jury is still out for those without much experience in sorting things out.

Thanks for that, Would i be able to down load the new steam locos from the download station instead?

No, they are only available in TC3.
TC3 is a completely separate package, which has it's own set of updates and content (much the same as TC1/2 was from TRS2006).

As it is, without some work on your end, those steam locomotives would not work in TC1/2 anyway. If your interested in UK steam, and early diesel, TC3 might be of interest. If you just want to update to the latest, 09 is probably better, although for a newer user it may be a bit confusing (remember this, still a work in progress, and only about 10 new items, most of the new stuff is 'under the hood' code updates to make it work better).
