Get over it
I was shutting down a session and one of those unexplained things in Trainz (06) happened. The grid screen showed up and much to my surprise there were two bridge abutments under my tracks at my coal yard. Just out of curiosity I went into Surveyor and searched my route in the grid screen. I found some more abutments and water where there shouldn't have been. You might be surprised what you find under those tracks, check it out.

Hi stouthm.

Had the same thing myself. It was in the great route of 'Adamstown to Belmont'.

At Redhead where the line branches off to go to the coal loader next to the main line there was a large bridge abutment beneath the track.

A friend who has the same route did not have it there though.

Strange things indeed.

What I have found that happens is that when your moving or adding something, say track....and you click the move button and it doesnt respond as fast as your mouse click and by the time you realize it you have added like you said....something you had no idea of....until looking through grid.
I found smoke coming from the ground before...same story
I have two friggin birds in my route and cannot get them out....so its like an unwanted Easter Egg

You must have the Adler. I hear the trick is to zoom out directly overhead and click on them until they vanish. It's pretty tough. Eagles can be a tough target.

 Claude

i did something wierd unintentionally, (yah those damd birds 'adler' are annoying, as the were the default first thing that came up in buildings assets in 06, until i managed to find a couple of other things lower in the alphabet then "ad.." that now come up first).

well i copied the whole "locals" subdirectory somewhere else to make a backup of it, nothing insane yet, but then, i don't remember how or why, or at least i THINK that's what happened, i copied it back, or i did something, i'm not at all certain as to what, at any rate, and this is one of those 'bugs' that actually IS a useful feature, if i'm not just imagining the whole thing and what i have is perfectly normal and supposed to be there, but now, in surveyor, in addition to all the assets with the human readable names, i have a whole bunch that have the kinds of names 06 uses internaly to load stuff on the fly, i.e. the kind of file names IT uses IN locals.

now what's interesting about this, is that there NOT all just duplicates of the assets with regular names (a few are, less then half as far as i can tell), but actually other and aditional ones, some of which are actually extrememly useful. (and none of which are in any way buggie)

there like parts of buildings and bridges and accessways and stuff like that, mostly like background very low poly large structures, and stuff like that, but like i say, some are actually quite interesting and useful.

there's a bunch of toy looking wooden bridges among that stuff too, that go good with the brio trains, (that i'd still like to repaint the damd engine of to something other then red, like green maybe)

That was my first thought on finding the bridge abutment, but my friend did not have it in his. Seems to be a random event somehow.

If you have a problem with not being able to delete unwanted items, try selecting a section of ground with no objects on it and paste it over the unwanted item. Usually gets rid of it.
