Here is what I am looking to do: I have loaded my cars and engines on the track. When I press Ctrl F2, it takes me back to something totally different.

After having downloaded the manual, printed it out and read it TWICE, I still don't know what I am doing wrong.

All I want to do is drive my own train on a track that is already in Trainz2006. GEEEZZZ.'

After placing cars and locos in Surveyor (which is the part of the program where you can built routes, place scenery items, lay track, place signals, place consists [locos and rolling stock], etc.) pressing Ctrl F2 puts you in Driver mode where you can drive the train that you placed on the tracks. When it starts you get to pick between Cab (realistic mode where you can use your mouse as your hand to move the locos controls) or DCC (model railroad mode where you use the < and > keys to move the controller knob. Driver mode is detailed in the TRS2006 manual, Chapter 9.
Running the Tutorial sessions in TRS2006 will familarize you with many of the functions and controls.
If you want to see all of the rolling stock and locos that are available to you, select Railyard when you first start Trainz.

Thanx Bob.
I am very glad it works for you cause it doesn't work for me. I load the locos and cars on the track in surveyor, press CTRL F2 and it sends me to an Amtrak on Marias Pass. I am opening the "Grain Run" when I start Surveyor so what gives with that??

If there are multiple locos on the map you are working on, then going into quick drive will place you in the default loco. You need to edit your list of train drivers so that the loco you want to drive is first on the list. That will make it the default loco when starting driver.

I had this excact same problem. Make sure to use DCC mode when you start. You can click on the engineer in the bottom left corner and the other locomotives/engineers will pop up above him. Pass the mouse over them till your locomotive is popping up in text under the mouse says your engine type. Click on that engineer and you jump to it. You can also look around the map in "free roaming" mode in the upper right display "same display as headlights and such" Hope this helps. Now if a totally different route is popping up you got real problems I guess.
