I've been trying to download multiplayer maps, but after I download it and go in to Railroad Simulator powered by Trainz 12, I try playing the map but I'm missing assets. So I start downloading the missing assets and it works fine until it gets to the train sounds. It goes slow and when the blue finally reaches the end it stops downloading it and wont put it on the game. I used the download helper and it worked for one of the train sounds and the other two did the same thing as what I previously said. I don't have a FCT. Help!!!! Thanks.

Welcome to the forums.

It is fairly well-known on these forums that if it is a large file, it is advisable to have a First Class Ticket.

This is because the servers time out after so long, which at 4 KB/second is not long.

It is actually multiplayer sessions that I'm trying to download. My game only came with one multiplayer capable route.

For multiplayer sessions, a FCT is highly recommended when it comes to downloading content for them, as there is a 100MB daily limit for free users.

Thanks Shane It actually goes fast until it gets to the train sounds. The sounds are the only things that are slow. I tried downloading it separately but only worked for one of them.

It might be that the train sounds are large files (usually a few megabytes in size)

Usually, downloading these at a few kilobytes per second will take a while.

(That's why I bought a FCT - First Class Ticket)

The sessions I'm trying to download are: Multiplayer on Mojave, Krashnburn multiplayer session, and the intencity multiplayer session. I just downloaded the steam version of intencity and it works perfectly. It downloaded the dependcies fast, probably because there weren't engine sounds.

Sounds about right - most dependencies are below a megabyte, apart from more complex items including engine sounds which are usually above a megabyte.

I need the GE 7FDL16 diesel engine sound which is 5.64 megabytes and the EMD 16-710G3 Diesel Engine Sounds which is a little bit above 7MB.

I'm not sure if they are available on other sites, but other members here will be able to check that.

If it is only on the Download Station, bear in mind that downloading that size of file at 4 kilobytes per second will take at least 10 minutes if not longer. Not sure if the server can hold out that long without timing out.
