Help

The moving fireman in surveyor is no different from active smoke effects in surveyor.
The animdist tag and value defines the distance traveled in 30 frames of animation. Don't delete it.

Thanks for the info. I did a little experimenting while waiting for a answer, and found the the other animations run all the time in surveyor, railyard, and driver. when I deleted animation-loop-speed 1.0 they they stopped running in surveyor, railyard, and driver to even if the train was running. So I put the line back where it was, and everything is fine, except the engineer is not right he is standing with his legs down through the floor. The mesh for the driver must be wrong. I have all of the 0-6-0 working and showing not faulty, except for the NYC one, it is showing missing textures.

If you have to add 'animation-loop-speed' to make the animation work then something is wrong in the config. You will find the wheels may be rotating but they don't change speed.

List one of the bogie configs here.

I concur about the engineer. I wish some kind creator would create a stand-alone mesh of a seated engineer.

You must have misunderstood, the wheels move when they are not suppose to, when the train is standing still in railyard, surveyor, or driver. Deleting the " animation-loop-speed 1.0 " stops this and the wheels didn't turn at all when they were suppose too. I use a different bogey that is not by bdaneal and the drivers work like they are suppose too. Now I am finding the other leading and trailing bogey's by bdaneal are doing the same thing. I stopped them the same way, but have not had a chance to test them yet to see if they will turn in the program.
P.S. Just tried them and the wheels will not turn in driver, the driver wheels turn, but the leading and trailing ones just drag along the track.

The Willie the gump figure is seated and is suppose to be used for those loco's, another thing I have not been able to find yet.
I opened both Willie the Gimp (mesh),<kuid2:46075:10101:2> and ATSF 0-6-0 #9001,<kuid2:46075:6830:9> for Edit in Explorer. I copied the folder "willie_sitting" from Willie the Gimp to ATSF 0-6-0 #9001 main folder, just like the coalman folder. Then double click the config.txt file in the ATSF 0-6-0 and add this driver container just below the coalman container.

driver
{
mesh "driver/western man 6e.im"
anim "driver/western man 6e.kin"
animation-loop-speed 1
auto-create 1
att-parent "default"
att "a.driver0"
}
Save and commit. The 0-6-0 should now have an engineer sitting on his bench just like this.

Thank you I will try that, some of the 0-6-0's had that folder already there, and I added it to others, but nothing happened since they did not have the added text in the config which I figured should be there.

Ok! I added the text to the config, but had to change your, "willie_sitting/", to "driver/" since my folder is not named that way. It worked and the driver is setting there moving his head around.
The only problem I have now is getting the nyc version to work, its files are a mess of faults, and it doesn't have the extras added to the others. The ones I need the most is nyc, prr, bo, co, and nkp.

This numbered egine is a B-11d 0-6-0 built in Lima Ohio in 1918. It with two other engines spent their switch cars around the Greensburg, Indiana NYC yard until retirement in the mid 1960's.
This engine is completed to the point that it can be used. However, there are two revisions that will be available with in three or four weeks.
I am still trying to figure out driver animation. The driver set I attached is two large. I need 51-inch driver set; therefore I need to make them myself.
This set I used is only as eye-candy set. This will be the first revision. For some odd reason, I was able to create a smoke0 attachment point but ran into a snare with the steam attachment points.
I think it's just a minor problem that I will sort out over the next two weeks The engine finished out at a polycount of 9100. This I could also reduce, however based upon the e-mail,
many of you would like to get your hands on this engine runs okay on my computer using the Clichfield route. If anyone would like to lend a hand, I will make the Gmax file available.
Please contact me if you have any problems. I would also like to see any screenshots with my engine operating on your routes.

So far as I can tell there are around 30 0-6-0's almost all based on Bill's original Baldwin or on Dave's modernized Baldwin and Alco models. It appears as though (from the descriptions) that Mike's may be some other engine.

Only a few work in TS12 without some effort as illustrated in this thread.

Thanks for the info Norm, but you could have saved yourself a lot of time and typing, as I said in my other post I have 10 or 11 of these engines, and managed with help to get all the dependents for them, but they all had problems with there bogies. For my route I only need the liveries for Ohio, PRR, NYC, and NKP lines. Just four or five of these 0-6-0 engines. As of right now I have all 10 liveries working in TS2009, and the only one that really gave me a fit was the NYC one, I solved that problem by re-texturing one of the others with the NYC tga's. I am going to do the same with a couple others for the NKP, and PRR. I now have TS 2010 and I will be putting this content over into it as soon as it is all corrected. Don't know if I will ever buy TS2012.

Same problem new hitch

I had all of the faults, and warnings corrected in all of the loco's I downloaded, and thought everything was OK. Now one of the engines which is a beautiful one the Frisco 1522, and tender has its wheels all turning like the 0-6-0's were, but do not have the 'animation-loop-speed 1.0 in its config file, nor does the bogey files. I don't need to use this engine in my route, but the bogies used on it are also used on the loco's I do need. Which are PRR #4557 4-8-2 all the wheels, PRR E6 #460 leading and trailing wheels, and NYC Mohawk 4-8-2 Trailing wheels. The Fisco flies are .im not .pm including the bogey files. So any alias to the Frisco should not have a problem with .pm files. So why is this happening to the Frisco, and how do I stop it? Oh! the animdist with number is used in these files.

Info that might help others

Well it seems that the Frisco bogie's have all been updated to a new version. The config's call for the old version, but the dependences want the new. The trouble is that the new bogey config's contain the, "animation-loop-speed 1.0" that must be deleted to stop the wheels from turning when standing still, but then they will not run in driver as they should. The loco moves down the track with no animation of the wheels. I find the answer is that there is the words, "anim "anim.kin"" in the Config file in the mesh statement following Auto create 1. It was not in the old files that work, so I deleted it, and all the affected engines work fine. Maybe this will help keep someone else from pulling their hair. :)
